Anti-Human Trafficking Agreement

Last updated October 6, 2026

[Legal entity name] has zero tolerance for human trafficking, forced labor, and coercion in any form — within our own operations, across our contractors and suppliers, and in every program that involves human participants. This agreement states the binding prohibitions and ethical commitments that apply to everyone who works with or for 4xlabs.

1. Policy statement

Human trafficking and modern slavery are crimes under U.S. federal law, including the Trafficking Victims Protection Act and related statutes. 4xlabs prohibits these practices absolutely, without exception and regardless of local custom or legality elsewhere.

2. Scope & covered parties

This agreement applies to 4xlabs, its officers, employees, contractors, interns, volunteers, suppliers, vendors, and any partner or collaborator acting on 4xlabs' behalf. Each covered party, by working with or for 4xlabs, agrees to comply with the prohibitions and standards in this agreement as a condition of that relationship.

3. Prohibited conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Recruiting, harboring, transporting, obtaining, or maintaining a person for labor or services through force, fraud, or coercion.
  • Any commercial sex act involving a minor, or any commercial sex activity in connection with work performed for or funded by 4xlabs.
  • Using forced labor, debt bondage, involuntary servitude, or child labor in any activity connected to 4xlabs.
  • Destroying, concealing, or confiscating a worker's identity or immigration documents.
  • Charging workers recruitment fees or making employment contingent on repayment of any fee or debt.
  • Providing materially false or misleading information about the terms and conditions of employment during recruitment.

4. Recruitment & employment standards

All recruitment connected to 4xlabs must meet these minimum standards:

  • No recruitment fees charged to workers, at any stage, by any party in the labor chain.
  • Wages, benefits, and working conditions accurately described in writing before employment begins.
  • Workers keep possession of their own identity documents at all times.
  • Freedom of movement: no restrictions on workers' ability to leave housing or employment.
  • Compliance with all applicable wage, hour, safety, and anti-discrimination laws.

5. Voluntary & informed human participation

4xlabs conducts research involving human participants only on a voluntary basis. We do not experiment on, or collect data from, any person without their informed consent. Every program involving human participation must satisfy these requirements:

  • Prior review and approval by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or an independent ethics review of equivalent rigor.
  • Documented, informed consent obtained without coercion, undue influence, or penalty for refusal.
  • A clear, unconditional right to withdraw from a study at any time without consequence.
  • No enrollment of minors or adults with impaired decision-making capacity except under review protocols designed for that protection.
  • No payments or inducements structured so as to override free choice.
  • Data handling consistent with our Information Protection Agreement and the original consent.

6. Monitoring & compliance

4xlabs monitors compliance through contractor screening, supplier diligence, periodic certifications, and investigation of reports. Covered parties must permit reasonable audits and inspections, maintain accurate records, and promptly disclose any violation of this agreement.

7. Reporting & non-retaliation

Suspected trafficking, forced labor, or consent violations must be reported immediately to [legal@4xlabs.com] or through the contact channels on this Site. Anonymous reports are accepted. 4xlabs strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith, participates in an investigation, or refuses to participate in prohibited conduct.

8. Remedies & termination

Violation of this agreement is grounds for immediate disciplinary action up to termination of employment, and for immediate termination of any contractor, supplier, or collaboration agreement, without cure period. 4xlabs reserves all rights and remedies available under law and contract, and will report violations of criminal law to the appropriate authorities.

9. Cooperation with authorities

Covered parties agree to cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory investigations related to trafficking, forced labor, or consent violations, and to preserve records relevant to any such investigation.

10. Certification & changes

Upon request, each covered party will certify its compliance with this agreement. 4xlabs may update this agreement as law and our operations evolve; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
