Anti-Slavery Statement

Last updated October 6, 2026

This statement sets out the steps [Legal entity name] takes to prevent modern slavery, forced labor, and human trafficking in its business and supply chains, and is made in support of the principles of the U.S. Trafficking Victims Protection Act, the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act, and the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.

1. Our commitment

Modern slavery has no place in our business. 4xlabs is committed to conducting its work free of forced labor, debt bondage, child labor, and human trafficking, and to holding everyone in our labor and supply chains to the same standard.

2. Our business

4xlabs is a U.S.-based research and development center operating a wet laboratory. Our workforce consists of directly employed personnel in the United States, supported by a small number of professional service providers. We operate exclusively in the United States and do not do business with persons located outside the U.S., which materially reduces our exposure to cross-border forced-labor risks.

3. Our supply chains

Our principal supply categories are laboratory equipment and consumables, reagents, information technology and hosting services (including Railway, our SOC 2 Type 2 attested hosting provider), and professional services. Because we purchase largely from established U.S. and international suppliers rather than labor-intensive commodity chains, we assess our overall risk of modern slavery in our own supply chains as low — though we recognize that no supply chain is risk-free, particularly for globally manufactured laboratory consumables and electronics.

4. Policies & contractual controls

Our commitment is implemented through binding instruments, including:

  • Our Anti-Human Trafficking Agreement, which prohibits trafficking, forced labor, recruitment fees, and document confiscation, and applies to employees, contractors, suppliers, and partners.
  • Contractual flow-down requirements obligating suppliers and contractors to impose equivalent standards on their own labor chains.
  • Our Information Protection Agreement, which governs the handling of research-participant data and reinforces our requirement that all human participation be voluntary and informed.

5. Due diligence & risk assessment

We screen new suppliers and contractors before engagement, require compliance certifications from parties in higher-risk categories, and consider modern-slavery risk when selecting suppliers for goods with global manufacturing footprints. Where red flags are identified, we investigate before proceeding and address findings through remediation or disengagement.

6. Training

Personnel involved in procurement, hiring, and program management receive guidance on identifying and reporting indicators of modern slavery. All personnel have access to our anti-trafficking and anti-slavery policies at onboarding.

7. Measuring effectiveness

We evaluate our performance through the proportion of suppliers screened before engagement, the number and outcome of reported concerns, completion of required certifications, and periodic review of this statement and the underlying agreements.

8. Reporting concerns

Any suspected instance of modern slavery in our business or supply chains can be reported confidentially to [legal@4xlabs.com]. Reports may be made anonymously, and we prohibit retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith.

9. Approval

This statement is made for the fiscal year following its date, and will be reviewed and reissued at least annually. It has been reviewed and approved by the leadership of [Legal entity name].
